If you’ve reading this blog, it’s likely you’ve dabbled in football trading games, fantasy football or traded meme coins before. Or maybe you just love the beautiful game?
Football.Fun is a new platform that combines these passions into a unique experience. Now is a great time to check it out – it’s in early beta with a rewarded event, and completely free-to-play.
So, what is it all about?
Football.Fun is like fantasy football and token trading had a baby. You rip packs to collect shares in the best players from Europe’s top leagues, trade in and out of them for Gold, and win more Gold via their performances on the pitch.
You might have seen the trailer come across your feed on X recently:
The game is currently in its Gold Rush beta phase and costs nothing to play. The goal is to maximise squad value by opening packs, trading and winning Gold from the on-going tournaments and by referring your friends.
Rewards at the end of the beta include physical kits, a tokenised version of your squad so you can jump straight into the next version of the game, and more.
Leverage your football knowledge
Football.Fun complements other football games by using your existing knowledge of player form and fixtures. Instead of setting weekly lineups, you’re trading players like assets, capitalising on their real-world performances to increase your squad’s value.
That’s right – there are no lineups to set! Tournaments take place twice a week and all players in your squad automatically take part (as long as they remain in contract). Players who perform well and finish in the top places win you some additional Gold to invest into building your squad.
There are different ways to build your squad and play the game e.g.:
- Passive accumulation: gradually build your squad by acquiring undervalued players and hold them as their value increases.
- Fixture trading: buy players ahead of favourable fixtures and aim to win Gold from tournaments.
- Market flipping: take advantage of market fluctuations by buying low and selling high – don’t worry about holding on for tournament Gold.
Have a read of the Wiki for more information on how the game works.

Hang on… isn’t this just like some other games that didn’t turn out well?
When Football Index was fun, it was really fun. But we all know that ended in tears.
Unlike Football Index, Football.Fun is free-to-play and doesn’t involve real-money gambling. There’s no need to deposit funds for the beta, and the focus is on strategic gameplay rather than financial speculation. And, unlike Football Index, the financial model behind Football.Fun is designed to be sustainable, scalable and completely transparent.
There are other, similar platforms in the crypto space. Football.Fun offers a more accessible experience, without the complexities of cryptocurrency transactions or worries about liquidity.
And, I should say upfront: I know the team behind Football.Fun. The founder, Adam, is someone I used to work with. He’s sharp as hell, genuinely cares about making something fun and fair, and crucially – he’s not here to rinse people for a quick buck. After watching other platforms promise the moon and crash hard, it’s refreshing to see something that’s fun, free to play and actually designed to reward you for knowing your football.
Want in?
As the platform is in beta, access is currently invite-only. I have 5 referral codes to share with readers interested in joining – reach out to me on X or Discord if you’re interested and I’ll hook you up.
You can also hunt for referral codes in the Football.Fun Discord.
